Dear Warren Hospital Patients and Family Members,
On January 17 we announced with sadness that we have decided to close our Warren hospital, effective March 31. As always, the delivery of superior quality care remains our top priority. Our staff members will continue to provide patients with exceptional care during this transition.
The Warren hospital has been an important health provider in the community for more than 40 years and we know many of our patients have come to depend on the excellent care provided in our hospital by our dedicated staff. We are quickly working to identify options for you to receive convenient, high quality care following the closure. We are also working with our physicians to determine their interest in providing options for care at our Clinton Township hospital and at other facilities within Henry Ford Health System.
For those patients receiving ongoing care in one of our outpatient departments, we will work with you and your physician to address any care needs that extend beyond March 31. We will provide updates on this work as soon as possible.
Although we regret we must close the hospital in its current configuration, we are confident in the facility’s future. Henry Ford Health System is pursuing plans to transform the Warren hospital into a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation facility, in partnership with a nationally recognized organization in this specialty.
Here are answers to some initial questions you may have, as well as health care resources that you may turn to following the March 31 closure. I know this news is surprising and I share the feelings of sadness that our patients and staff are experiencing. At the same time, I feel an immense sense of pride for the superior quality of care this hospital has provided to the Warren community for so many years. I want to thank you for choosing Henry Ford and hope that we will be able to continue to serve as your health care partner well into the future.
