Dear Warren Hospital Patients and Family Members,
Since announcing our decision in January to close the Warren hospital as it currently exists, we have been very busy caring for patients, expanding outpatient options for continued access and preparing to transition the hospital to a physical rehabilitation facility.
Plans remain on track to close the hospital as it currently exists on March 31. We will provide care to our last ER patients on that date. Outpatient laboratory services closed earlier, on March 17, as many of the tests we process require a longer cycle time. We have also worked hard to improve access for outpatient care following the closure. The following is a snapshot of services that will remain nearby:
- Wound Care Center in Warren, on Schoenherr just north of the hospital
- Digital mammography and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services, moving to the Henry Ford Macomb Health Center - Fraser
- Clinic for uninsured Macomb County residents, on the Warren hospital campus
- Outpatient care at the nearby Sterling Heights and Cottage medical centers
- Henry Ford Macomb physician offices in Warren, including our Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Gynecology and Orthopedics practices
Please click here for further details on nearby outpatient care available through Henry Ford Health System, as well as inpatient care available at our hospital in Clinton Township. Most insurance plans are accepted at these facilities, but we encourage you to check with your insurance company and physician’s office to ensure that care is covered and coordinated prior to accessing services.
Maintaining inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation services
We are excited to announce that our plans to transform our Warren hospital into a comprehensive rehabilitation facility, in partnership with a nationally recognized organization in this medical specialty, are moving forward more quickly than we anticipated. To support this transformation, we will be maintaining inpatient rehabilitation services, as well as outpatient physical and occupational therapy, at the Warren facility. This is the first step toward a new resource in rehabilitation care for the region.
As we prepare to start a new era of serving the Warren community, I want to thank you for trusting us with your care. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your family into the future. If you have questions, please call us at 800-532-2411.
Sincerely,

Barbara W. Rossmann
